and transmissions and provides excellent corrosion protection. Withstands
high temperatures without breaking down. This product was developed for
earlymodel single and DuoProp sterndrives, including: 280DP, 290DP, 290SP,
SP-A, SP-A1 and DP-A.

SAE 30 Synthetic Engine Oil, part number 3847306 (quart size) or 3842344 (gallon size) for gas engines newer than 2002. For diesel engines, use 40005015 (quart size). Good all purpose oil developed to Volvo's high standards of purity and protection. Use with Volvo Penta filters as part your regular maintenance schedule. Consult your owner's manual for the proper amount of oil to order for your engine, or call us at Marine Parts Express so we can look it up for you.
Gasoline Engine Oil, part number 3847302 (quart size). For use in all Volvo Penta inboard/outboard marine gasoline engines with and without a catalytic converter. This conventional motor oil is recommended for 100 hour service intervals.
Valvoline Non-Synthetic Engine and Sterndrive Oil 75110
Volvo Penta no longer offers this non-synthetic 30 weight. Volvo Penta recommends that for older engines it is acceptable to switch to the new SAE 30 Synthetic Engine Oil (part numbers 3847306, 3842344 and 40005015).
For the older drives 100B, 200, 250, 270, 275, 280, 285, 290, SP-A, SP-A1, SP-A2 and SP-C, Volvo Penta is less specific on their recommendation and only states that these drives should use the same oil as the engine does.
Marine Parts Express recommends that customers with older gas engines and outdrives should NOT use the synthetic oil in either the engines or the drives.
We have had customers who have experienced overheating issues when they have swapped to synthetic oils.
If you have been using synthetic oil with no issues then we would recommend you continue to do so and not switch back. As Volvo Penta no longer has a non-synthetic 30 weight, we recommend purchasing a high quality 30 weight oil or equivalent. We do offer an aftermarket Valvoline (NAPA) oil part number 75110 which is a Non-synthetic detergent 30 weight oil. (Replaces VDS-3 and part numbers 3855838, 1141690, 1141691, and 1141693)
